[black history month No. 4]

well, i mean, duh.

the failures of the past must not be an excuse for the inaction of the present and future.
-Rev. Dr. Marltin Luther King, Jr.

in my previous post i mentioned that Carmichael and the fiery spirits of the students involved in the black power movement sparked my little engine for social justice, but in my adult life (did i just say that?) i've been drawn much more to the nonviolent civil disobedience philosophies that MLK practiced in the US during the Civil Rights Movement. these days using love as our greatest weapon makes a lot more sense to me.

bless his soul and his legacy.
