The intelligent mind uses up a great part of its lifespan trying

to awaken its consciousness sufficiently to comprehend that

which is plainly there before it. Every generation or so some

individual with extra keen perception grasps something of the

obvious about us and hitches the human race forward slightly

it's understanding flaws and challenging them?

it's working within frameworks but bending the rules -

pressing the entire weight of your body against the boundaries until they budge, just an inch?

but sometimes all the pushing in the world isn't enough to ignore the apple falling from the branch.

even if you call it by a different name, even if you wish on the stars that the name by which you call it is universal.

sometimes exhaustion sets into the muscles fatigued from the pushing, because it takes a soul full of energy to be ignorant.

a heart full each day to believe in that which is not.
