"We are born and have our being in a place of memory. We chart our lives by everything we remember from the mundane moment to the majestic. We know ourselves through the art and act of remembering. Memories offer us a world where there is no death, where we are sustained by rituals of regard and recollection. The past is a resource that can serve as a foundation for us to revision and renew our commitment to the present, to making a world where all people can live fully and well, where everyone can belong."

belonging: a culture of place
after being away from school for a few days I feel my focus returning. slowly, slowly returning, but coming back to me nonetheless.
leaving home again for this new home was a struggle. i have really amazing friends who i miss more than i knew. my family is always great to see. my grandfather and i looked at old pictures and he told me stories of his life when he was younger. i like the time i had. i return to this place, to my cat sully, to my books, to my room, to my morning bus ride, and feel like i am doing alright.
