2009 Year in Review
I"ll be ringing in the New Year in Guatemala...hopefully this is indicative of a new world traveling leaf in my life.

Birthday in NYC - farkle, Latin dance moves, late diners, hard knocks
Birthday in ATL - reuniting, dancing in the living room, dinner made with lots of love
Submit applications to Boston University and University of Texas, Austin
attended MLK March and visited Memorial
Obama inauguration party and Sarah Jane's

got extra crafty this month - S and I implemented craft days
struggled to attain my very first credit card
weekend in Asheville with great friends
tooth broke in half in middle of class
helped create play for black history day - so good it brought tears to other colleagues eyes (even mine)

working diligently on paper for grad school applications

led a class at Warren Wilson College - loved it
was denied from UT Austin
accepted and offered full scholarship to Boston University
headed up National Day of Silence at the high school
officially accepted the offer to Boston University
put in my notice to retire from my first grown-up career

tried my hand on horse betting at the Kentucky Derby!
my sister had a baby...he's perfect
visited Boston and BU, met people in the department
taught high school for the last time...maybe?
saw Bonnie Prince Billy for a second time...melty heart

s finishes dissertation - big surprise party

writing four 20 page research papers
halfway finished with master's degree
hearing things like: "you have a southern accent. i wish i had one."
-never have i ever been exotic...learning to like it.
leave for Guatemala to ring in the new year and learn some espanol!
this year I retired from my first career and am halfway finished with a master's degree.
i'll turn 25 years old on January 2nd.
this year was hard sometimes. definitely. but mostly happy i'd say. mostly full of growth. this year...i got big!
not bad, I say. not bad.
where is september - wonderful woman visits me in boston? and then september onward - campaign to get wonderful woman to move to boston?
